Circa Survive: now touring with Dredg Great band - akin to Mars Volta, Saosin, Coheed, Thrice, Chiodos

I realize that I'm late in starting this thread.
I realize that this band has been around for a few years now, and I'm late in starting this thread. I realize that singer Anthony Green started out with Saosin (in the band's very early stages) but jumped ship as they were beginning work on their first full album because he knew he wanted to join Circa Survive. I know Circa opened for Thrice on a massive tour a couple of years ago. My brother played me Juturna, the band's first major release, a few years ago but I was too distracted with Thrice, Dredg, Radiohead, Muse and Queens of the Stone Age- so despite my enjoyment of that album, I kind of forgot about these guys.
The band recently resurfaced on my Pandora and Last FM accounts back in December which prompted me to immediately purchase both Juturna and On Letting Go. I have to say that I like both albums equally so far, though I haven't listened to On Letting Go as much as I have their previous effort, Juturna.
Their third album is expected to release this year, hopefully before Summer.
Anyone else like these guys?
Act Appalled (from Juturna)
The Difference Between Medicine and Poison is the Dose (from On Letting Go)

Sketch I've noticed that you and I have very similair music tastes. If you like Thrice and Circa Survive you'll definately like The Dear Hunter (Not to be confused with another band called Deerhunter). The Dear Hunter also toured with Thrice at some point a year or two ago. You have to start witht their first album (Act I) and work your way through to their lastest album (Act III) in order as they progress and get better musically with each album. I'd probably recommend you give Poison The Well's last two albums (Versions & The Tropic Rot) a listen as well. I'm not really that into their older stuff but I love those two albums.
Anyway back on topic, I love Circa Survive and I'm glad Anthony left Saosin to create CS (Saosin got an awesome replacement with Cove Reber anyway). I've been highly anticipating their new album Blue Sky Noise ever sine they announced in 2008 that they were writing and recording for it.

Wow, thanks for posting that dude. I had nearly given up hope on the "Other Music" section all together (for obvious reasons)- but I appreciate your post. I had no idea the single was already out!
It's pretty different from their usual stuff, but it's freakin' awesome and it's definitely growing on me. I love the solo/breakdown and some of the lines really stick with me. "Never underestimate the daylight".
I'll check out those other bands too!!
