You know that the chances are that was just put in as a guide track, right?

Yeah, it does, but I'm just saying that I doubt it's even part of the music, so it's not worth worrying about.

Isn't that just a metronome?

The synth that comes right after Wes' part is obviously a part of the verse or something, you can faintly hear Fred dropping in with an "uh" or whatever. Of course the whole thing is a demo at this point so it's not like it's set in stone, but then again you can hear a pretty similar synth hook on Ready To Go. The combination of both facts is where I was drawing my conclusions from.

for some reason i don't even think it sounds so bad, i normally hate that stuff, but they found a good way to use it IMO

I'm pretty sure this riff was played to a fan in a shop at the end of 2006.

I'd say it is a variation of the first one we hear from 0:40 on

By the way, I love the riff, but I hate the hip-popish beat.

Yeah it's just Wes' signature sound, using a lot of whammy/slides/bends.

Yup it is. Hence why any comment regarding the "beat" or "drums" is redundant.

@Rep
I think that the hype has already died down. Google trends are a perfect example of that. IMO they've already missed the window of opportunity that you are talking about

"Beat" could potentially refer to something more than just drums, and the thing that comes after the guitar part is not a click track/metronome/guide track, it has notes and is obviously part of the music. You can hear the click track separately.

Sorry just in case you meant the same thing.

I'm not talking about the synth, if that's what you mean.

Even if there is a drum track in there though, it's still most plausible that it's there to act as a guide. It's obvious these are just rough recordings they're doing to get some song ideas and structures in place to build on, and work on with the other members at a later date.

Doe anyone seriously think we're going to get a Limp Bizkit album with just Wes, Fred and some midi tracks?

Me, though Wes and Fred are arguebly disposable too.

@Anesthetize, all good then. And yes, it's obviously a rough demo track so everything in it is subject to change. In terms of drums I couldn't really hear much when Wes was playing and after that there was just the click and the synth. Maybe some high-hats and kicks in the beginning of the video.

Edit: Was anyone else shocked but at the same time intrigued by the possibility of Limp Bizkit being just Fred, Wes, Sid and a bunch of Lil' Waynes? :D

Fred post this video because of wes riffs not because of that beat. It's just a demo we will have to wait for hearing the whole band

I just realized that the accents in Wes' riff are kind of similar to Korn's Get up, only with whammies instead of wobbles to fill out the middle part.

the riff is kinda sorta similar to that TUTP2 riff, but I wouldn't say its from that song.

but i really hope the rest of the song from that TUTP2 riff winds up on TUTP2...and that the stuff that was recorded with Ross Robinson, instrumentally, isn't re-cut cause i cannot fucking stand the sound of orange amps. only Omar from the Mars Volta can get a decent sound out of them.
